Our team from Saddleback Church left us today after two weeks traveling around Rwanda. We were able to work with orphans and street children in several places around Rwanda. The local churches have a great ministry caring for the kids that have been left behind. We move into our house tomorrow. pray that that goes well. We have not been able to log into our email account, but managed to get into our blog, eventhough the computer system is all in french.
God has been very good, and we look forward to getting settled and connecting thru the internet with all of you.
We saw baboons, giraffs, crocidiles, and zebras too.

I sent an email and it bounced then I looked on your support letter and found the blog address. How cool! Alyssa will hopefully be arriving within the hour after a 43 hour trip! Her blog address is alyssainrwanda.blogspot.com if you still aren't able to get email.
Love you and still praying,
Chaundel
Welcome to your new home in Rwanda!!
Praise God that you were able to touch so many children in your past two weeks.
We are praying that you can adjust quickly to your new home and location.
We are taking really good care of the snake. We don't remember his name so we are calling him Sweetiekins. JK! But, we really don't remember his name.
We are also praying for a smooth transition for Tom to his new job in Rwanda.
We miss you and love you!

Just reading up on your work/adventure. Glad to hear everything is going well - do keep posting! We have some church friends from VA who are on their way to the embassy in Nirobi - I'd like to get your two families in touch given you're doing similar work; if you have a direct email, let me know. Take care and God Bless - you're in our prayers!

Hi Family,
So glad to hear all is going well thus far. We missed you at the annual Family Reunion, but will look forward to the day that we can see you all again.
May God bless you and watch over you. Please keep posting updates so that we can track your progress. Love you all.... Charlie, Alicia, Chloe & Lily
Tom,
I tried to email you at your cox address, which may be disconnected:
I was referred to your blog by Rick Hampson. I think we may be able to use a couple of the first shots you posted from Rwanda. May we? (STA70617, STA70626 on your site) Can you please send me caption and credit information? And if there are others in your group who have the ability to send me their photos that would help a ton. Our plans to send a photographer fell through and right now, we have very little to help illustrate the mission and this story.
As you already know, USA TODAY’s Rick Hampson is working on about the role the Saddleback Church is playing in making a difference in Rwanda. Rick has mentioned to me that in the past few years more than 8,000 members of Warren’s Saddleback Church have come to help Rwandans bring the country back – not like the old know-it-all missionaries – but as partners eager to learn.
I am seeking photos that can help illustrate the kind of work being done and what the collaboration looks like. Please send along any photos you have that you are willing to share with USA TODAY readers. They can be close up shots of individuals, overalls of the village, I will try to consider anything you can send me.
Here’s what is needed:
• Large sized, jpg files - as big as you can send comfortably. We need big files to reproduce them well.
• Captions stating the date, who we are looking at, where we are, what is going on (and why)
• Who took the photo, so I can credit them properly
Thanks in advance for your help. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
Evan
